Oceanside to Cape Meares

My lovely black Volvo wagon named Sture (an old Swedish man's name pronounced "stew-reh"-Thanks My!) has finally allowed me to get out of the city on my own after five years of being carless. Ray and I decided to take Sture on a day trip to the coast for Mother's Day. We visited the Tillamook Cheese Factory and then headed out to Oceanside to play in the sand.

We drove up the road later to check out the lighthouse at Cape Meares. The lighthouse was fine, but the view and this humongous tree were amazing!

Colorado

I've traveled to the other side of the world, but Colorado is the farthest east I've ever been in my own country. Maybe one day I'll make it to the east coast, but for now I'm loving these beautiful open plains and enormous Rocky Mountains. Thanks to my wonderful friends (and cutest little pup!) for making my trip even better.

Marin, Bruford, and I hiked Buchanan trail in Peaceful Valley on Saturday. The trails were covered in packed snow, yet it was sunny and warm. Bruford couldn't get enough of the snow!

On Sunday, Justin joined us for another hike. We hiked Bear Peak trail at NCAR in the blazing sun. There were a ton of other people out and a couple rattle snakes. This desert trail was a complete change from our snowy hike yesterday and I loved it!

Colorado-Hippie Justin

I spent my last day sipping mead and playing in the sun with the always lovely Jax. Chili, Oregon, and now Colorado-where will we meet next?
